Ashville Middle School is a Title I school accredited by the Southern Association of colleges and Schools. Approximately 350 students are led by a faculty and administration that is committed to excellence. Expect t! Believe It! Achieve It! has become our motto. Students of Ashville Middle School consistently score well on standardized assessments and the Alabama Direct Assessment of Writing
Strong academic classes support the curriculum of AMS. Through exploratory classes our students have the opportunity to participate in art, chess, dominoes, strategic games, health, and choir. Additional activities at Ashville Middle include athletic teams, clubs, band, scholar’s bowl and archery.
The archery team has been very successful under Coach Jeremy Cox. They won the 2008 and 2009 National Archery in Schools Alabama State Championship. In 2008 they finished 6th in the national competition in Louisville, Kentucky. In May the team competed in and won the 2009 National Championship. A resolution recognizing the accomplishments of the archery team has been adopted by the St. Clair County Commission.
