Welcome

A student is referred to Ruben Yancy Alternative School on a temporary basis. Ruben Yancy Alternative School provides assistance for the student whose behavior and or attitude has not been appropriate at the base school. We also recognize that some youth need a different environment in order to acheive academic and social growth.

Our Goals are:

• To address student's individual behavior problems and possible underlying causes of the problem.
• To motivate students to respect themselves, other students, adult leaders, property and core human values.
• To improve academic success and create in the student the awareness of learning as a process.
• To have students assume responsibility for his or her individual successes or failures.
